-Tectonic Theatre Project website has a link to the Laramie Project “online community” à no one has really used it for anything

-includes clips from the Tectonic Theatre Project’s production of Laramie, 10 Years Later

-did people in Laramie actually have relations with same-sex partners? à bisexuality has been mentioned by Doc O’Connor, Shannon, Jen, etc.

-other people in Laramie in the play allude to there being a homosexual presence in the town that no one talks about

-Henderson and McKinney beat Matt with a gun à didn’t shoot him

-documentary mentions that he was beat over the head 18 times with a 357 Magnum

-Elana read that they had the gun because they were planning on robbing someone but the plan was foiled

-projections not used to “set the scene”

-we can also set the scene with ourselves à e.g, in the Fireside bar, people could set the scene on stage, we can just be other patrons at the bar

-Emily: we represent Laramie, but we project things that are not Laramie (e.g. Fred Phleps, etc.)

-Charlie: the aestheic of project will allude back to television and the way these events were portrayed in the news

-this could be a point of entry à the media

-showing the titles of each moment

-they could be announced as well (Charlie)

-Jake and Joe think that the moment title could be displayed at all times

-where are there points where we can “block” the projections

-the projectors can also be set up in a way so that we do not stand in front of the image

-we can use projections as a way of placing us in an environment

-Akari: thinking a lot about lighting and casting shadows, who’s faceless and who wants to be faceless à metaphorical shadow cast over Laramie by the event

-what would a vigil look like? How do candles light a face? à can only see some of people’s faces

-Akari presented some visual research that evoked the Western

-Laramie also described as an old-type Western town

-Emily: playing the most important character, Shadow

-Elana: barrage of media outside of the theater à will form people’s judgments à but make the space of the theater the space of the town

-Joe: maybe the media will be represented by “static”

-Ethan: once you get into the theater space, maybe you are in Laramie?

-Tectonic Theatre Project members don’t necessarily have to be a separate entitiy from Laramie

-inside of the theater space is just the perspective of Laramie, outside of the theater space is just the perspective of outside of Laramie (e.g., media)

-maybe use projections, too, to just present perspectives from the outside of Laramie (e.g., reporter, Fred Phelps, etc.)

-Emily, Akari, Jake will take on projection design à will come up with a synthesis of everyone’s ideas
